Georgios E. Skoulas

Georgios Skoulas holds a degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Faculty of Humanities, as well as a degree in Political Science with honors from the same faculty. He was a postgraduate fellow of the Canadian Government and holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, specializing in Political Theory & Philosophy with honors from the aforementioned Department of Political Science at the same university. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from York University, Toronto, Canada, in 1991. He has taught as a visiting professor at Canadian universities including the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier, and York in the Departments of Sociology, Education, and Political Science from 1984 to 1993. Upon returning to Greece in 1993, he taught as a Lecturer under Presidential Decree 407 in the Department of Sociology at the University of Crete, at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, and at PATES-SELETE Heraklion from 1998 to 2003. Since 2003, he has been teaching at the University of Macedonia in the Department of International & European Studies in the field of Politics and Diplomacy, at ASPAITE, and as a member of the Academic Staff at the Hellenic Open University in the field of European Culture. He has been an Associate Professor of Political Theory & Analysis since 2008 and a member of the Interdepartmental Committee of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program at the University of Macedonia. He is a member of the Research University Institute of the same university and several editorial boards of international scientific journals. He has authored several monographs and numerous articles in international scientific journals.
