Stratis Papadopoulos

Stratis Papadopoulos holds a Ph.D. in Prehistoric Archaeology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is the Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Drama. He has taught prehistoric and classical archaeology at the Departments of Greek Philology and History-Ethnology at Democritus University of Thrace, as well as at the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology. He leads excavation projects in the regions of Kavala and Drama and has spent decades studying prehistoric Thasos. He collaborates with Research Centers and Institutes and has been a long-term scholar of the State Scholarships Foundation and the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. His research is funded by the Institute for Aegean Prehistory and the Mediterranean Archaeological Trust. He has authored four monographs and numerous articles. Additionally, he has organized scientific Conferences and Symposia, edited Conference Proceedings, and developed Museum Exhibition Programs.
