Eleni Dikaiou

Eleni Dikaiou was born and raised in Nea Ionia, Volos. After finishing high school, she moved to Athens, where she worked for several years in the Public Relations department of OTE. Her involvement with literature began during her school years when she contributed to the magazine "Diaplasi ton Paidon." In 1991, she made her debut in children's and young adult literature with the novel "The Little Girls in Sailor Suits" (Akritas, 1991, 3rd edition by Patakis Publishers, 2000), which was awarded by the Union of Smyrnaeans and has been translated and published in French. This was followed by three more novels for older children: - "The Gods Do Not Die in Pella," awarded by the Center for Children's Art, Patakis Publishers, 1993, 11th edition 2001 - "Would You Teach Me to Smile, Please?" praised by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book, Patakis Publishers, 1994, 13th edition 2001 - "In Search of Lost Heroes," honorable mention Premio Europeo Pier Paolo Vergerio from the University of Padua, Patakis Publishers, 1996, 5th edition 2001. In 2004, she was honored with the State Award for Children's Knowledge Books for her book "The Great Journey of Odysseus," a novelistic recreation of the "Odyssey" from the double series (for younger and older children) with themes from Greek mythology.
