Marios Mazaris
Marios Mazaris—that is, myself—finds it amusing to talk about himself. Or, at the very least, pointless. Because each of us is a collection of drawings we keep discovering in our pockets. I was born and raised in Piraeus, always trying to surf the waters of childhood. Once, I wanted to become an astronaut, but I became nearsighted, screens won out, and Space couldn’t wait. As I grow older, I try to bring people together and to learn about life before we share it online. I have been working in elementary schools since 2006, believe that love is the ultimate political act, and constantly strive to be the teacher I never had. If I had to choose a phrase to describe myself, it would be: “Don’t let anyone take the handmade from your hands.” Because everything we can or cannot do is a résumé full of TOGETHERNESS that we craft by hand, while everyone is searching for the meaning of the word.
