Carlo Ginzburg

Carlo Ginzburg (Turin 1930) is one of the most original and widely read historians of our time. He taught history for many years in Bologna and now teaches at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). By researching the judicial archives of the Inquisition in Italy, he has written about witches and magic, heretics and popular culture, history and art. His books, which have been translated into many languages, including Greek, have pioneered the field of "microhistory."
