Stayroula Pagona

She was born in Katerini. She studied Advertising and Public Relations in the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture at Panteion University and worked as a copywriter in advertising agencies in Athens and Thessaloniki. From a young age, she spoke in rhymes and verses. As a lyricist, she collaborated with prominent composers and performers, while her short stories and plays have won awards in competitions. In recent years, she has devoted herself exclusively to children's literature and poetry, having found her true calling as a writer. In 2017, she was awarded by the Women's Literary Society for her collection of 25 children's poems for elementary school children. Her love for young people, travel, open horizons, and her belief that playing is the best way to learn inspired her to co-found the NGO You in Europe, where, as a youth advisor, she designs and implements mobility and lifelong learning programs for young people all over Europe. She lives in Chalkidiki with her family and believes that life is beautiful because it has given her all of the above, along with Gianni Rodari's books, starry nights, and cherry ice cream!
