Ulrike Rylance

Ulrike Rylance was born in 1968 in Jena. She studied German and English philology in Leipzig and London and worked in schools in Wales and Manchester. Since 2001, she has been living permanently in Seattle, USA. She enjoys writing children's books, both under her own name and under pseudonyms such as Ulrike Helwig, Caro Martini, or Carly Wilson. She created the successful series "Penny Pepper's Mysteries," which already includes six books. She has two dogs that can keep her company while writing, as long as they behave and don't chew on her computer, and two of the most adorable daughters in the world—as well as a relatively adorable husband.
