Dimitris Dimopoulos began his career as a stand-up comedian in 1996 at Comedy Nights. Since 2009, he has written and performed the solo shows Instead of a Doctorate and Blockbuster. As an actor and singer, he has collaborated with the Greek National Opera, the musical theater company "The Beggars' Operas," and in independent theater. He wrote the libretto for the operas Air Rossini and Yasou Aida, for which he was awarded the Karolos Koun Commendation for Dramaturgy of a Greek Work in 2012 by the Hellenic Association of Theatre and Music Critics. He directed the musical theater events Kafka-Fragmente (at the Onassis Cultural Centre), Das Schubert Diploma (at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory), Night Songs (at Knot Gallery), as well as the operetta Sataneri at the Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre. As a translator, he has worked in subtitling, dubbing, and with the Greek National Opera on the works Die Fledermaus, Pimpinone, and Orpheus in the Underworld. He is fluent in German, English, Spanish, and Russian, holds a degree in acting (Iasmos Higher Drama School), a degree in Tourism Business (Athens University of Applied Sciences), and is a graduate of the German School of Athens.
