Vagelis Georgantopoulos

Vangelis Georgantopoulos was born in Heraklion, Crete, to refugee parents. He studied Economic Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has two daughters who studied, live, and work in Germany. He served for many years as the Director of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and was the General Director at the Development Agency of Crete. He is a Business Consultant and Specialist in European Programs. He served as Deputy Regional Governor of the National Health System of the Dodecanese Prefecture. Additionally, he worked as a Special Advisor to the Prefect of Heraklion in the Press and Public Relations Office and in Cultural Affairs. He has been honored with a commendation from the Board of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, as well as an Honorable Mention from the Deputy Minister of Commerce for exceptional services. He has also served as President and Vice President of the Association of Economists of Eastern Crete, President of the Association of Chamber Employees of Crete, and President of the Federation of Chamber Employees of Greece. He was a professor of Business Administration at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, EOMMEX, ELKEPA, and the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce. He was a producer and presenter of television and radio programs on Crete TV and Radio Station Capital. He worked as an economic analyst and columnist in the local and Athenian press, including publications such as Express, Naftemporiki, Kerdos, Kathimerini, To Vima, among others.
