CHristos Georgiou

Dr. Christos E. Georgiou serves as the General Director of the Research Institute "INSVE" of the "Hellenic Federation of Enterprises" (SEV). He studied Mechanical Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Business Administration at the University of Patras. Since 1998, he has been involved in the management of family businesses, focusing particularly on the critical issue of succession. This interest began when he met and started collaborating with Greek-American management professor Asterios G. Kefalas. Together with Professor Kefalas, he published the methodological guidebook "The Succession Process in Family Businesses" in 2013, which was prefaced by the former President of SEV, Mr. Theodoros Papalexopoulos. In 2015, the book was also released in Cyprus. To date, it remains the only work in the Greek language that addresses the succession process in family businesses. Dr. Georgiou has been invited by numerous organizations (Chambers of Commerce, Business Associations, Universities, etc.) in Greece and Cyprus to present the methodology for implementing a proper succession process and its application.
