Akylas Michailidis - Grünberg

Akylas Michailidis - Grünberg
Akylas Michailidis-Grunberg was born in Ypsomatheia, Istanbul, in 1939, where he also grew up. He studied at the Zografeion Lyceum and graduated from the Higher School of Commerce in Istanbul. In 1964, after many ordeals, he was forced to leave Istanbul due to anti-Greek measures taken by the Turkish authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Greece, Protocol No. H 34521-2 on 25-11-1964), leaving all his belongings behind. He fled to Syria, then to Lebanon, from there to Cyprus, and finally to Greece. He engaged in commerce and researched the Fall of Constantinople from an Ottoman perspective, collecting data from 1955 to the present.
