Akis Petretzikis

Born on March 4th, Akis Petretzikis grew up in Thessaloniki, working in the family business from the age of sixteen. At eighteen, he decided to leave the city where he grew up and moved to Athens to study accounting. It was at that moment he realized that his true passion lay in the taste of fresh fruits, the aromas of Mediterranean spices, and the sounds of sharpened knives. It was then that he decided to also study as a chef at the Le Monde culinary school. After completing his studies (he finished accounting too!), he worked in numerous restaurants and hotels across Greece before departing for England to explore international cuisine. His five-year stay in England was the greatest culinary "school" for Akis, as he had the opportunity to collaborate with famous, award-winning chefs. His last stop was the renowned "The Goring" hotel. In 2010, he returned to Greece, not for a professional opportunity as many would think, but to participate in MEGA's game show Master Chef. Six months later, without a doubt, he emerged as the first Greek Master Chef, winning the competition. Today, Akis is one of the most beloved television personalities. Every day, for the past five years, he has been cooking on TV shows. Specifically, he cooks on his daily show on MEGA "Cook Like Akis," as well as on the weekly show "Stories from the List." Additionally, audiences enjoy him on his online show "Kitchen Lab." Akis is known for his ability to combine simple everyday ingredients and prepare delicious recipes that are quick and economical. He is also a distinguished chef, creating high-level gastronomy. Many multinational companies choose him as the main ambassador for their products. In 2014, Akis began publishing monthly magazines and released his first cookbook, titled "You Must Try This."
