George Lois

George Lois (born in Bronx, New York, 1931) is an American visual artist, advertiser, and graphic designer. He is best known for his 92 "groundbreaking aesthetic" photographic covers for "Esquire" magazine, created between 1962 and 1972, which today might be considered camp. In 2008, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) showcased 32 of these covers in a special exhibition. He is also a member of the following Halls of Fame: The Art Directors Hall of Fame, The One Club Creative Hall of Fame, and The American Advertising Federation Hall of Fame. He has been honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards for his body of work by the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Society of Publication Designers.
